So important to get the workweek (such as it is) off to a good start. A good Monday morning workout more often than not makes for a good Monday workweek--within the realms of business, fitness, pleasure, what have you.
This morning's Shed WoD #4, based on today's Crossfit Boston WOD.
Warmup: 100 jumping jacks, 25 air squats, 10 pullups, 5 burpees
Skill Work: 5x10 sets of PVC jerks
WoD
"Power Jerking"
3x10 jerks, each arm, 40 lb from ground--rest as needed between sets, focus on powerful dip, drive, and speed of landing
Rest 2 min
50 burpees for time
Rest
Hamstring stretch: 3x15 seconds samson stretch, good morning, straddles
Hit burpees in 4:30, did as 1-7-1 (plus 1) breathing ladder--think I may have shortchanged myself a little timewise by doing it that way. May have been better served to do max set, then break up remaining into sets of 5 w/a couple breath rest in between...perhaps could have done 20 in 70 sec or so, then 5 on 5 off in another 80-90 sec for a little over 2.5 minutes. Maybe I'll try that later.
What's your Monday way to get the week off on proper footing? Happy to hear in the comments section or at woodshedfitness@gmail.com.
